| For the second consecutive week, gasoline prices in Massachusetts have increased, today by an average of two cents per gallon, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s January 7 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.059 per gallon, up two cents from last week and five cents in the last two weeks. Massachusetts is currently five cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $3.109. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was $2.349. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 29 cents, from a low of $2.969 to a high of $3.259. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
