| Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are rising for the third consecutive week, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s January 26th survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.779 per gallon, three cents more than last week and 15 cents more than two weeks ago. The current price is 7 cents below the national average for self serve unleaded of $1.84, and the price is $1.21 less than the $2.98 found this time a year ago. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 29 cents, from a low of $1.679 to a high of $1.969. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
