Gas Prices Fall Three Cents, Says AAA
(posted by Public Affairs on January 21 @ 10:47 )
Lower winter-time demand for gasoline has helped push down the price of fuel in Massachusetts for the first time in 2008, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s January 21 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.029 per gallon, down three cents from last week. Massachusetts is currently one cent above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.019. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was $2.219.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 39 cents, from a low of $2.869 to a high of $3.259. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows:
Regular Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve
$3.029 ($2.869-$3.259)/$3.149 ($2.999-$3.359)

AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week
You may need to warm up before exercising, but your car does not. Even during very cold weather warming up your car for a minute or two is all that is necessary. Don’t race a cold engine to warm it up or allow it to idle for an extended time. And avoid rapid acceleration until the engine temperature is in the normal range.
