Gas Prices Up First Time Since September, Sasy AAA
(posted by Public Affairs on January 12 @ 10:03 )
For the first time since the middle of last September, gasoline prices in Massachusetts have risen, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s January 12 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.699 per gallon, seven cents more than last week. The current price is 10 cents below the national average for self serve unleaded of $1.79, and the price is $1.36 less than the $3.05 found this time a year ago.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 31 cents, from a low of $1.569 to a high of $1.879. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows:
Regular Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve

AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week
Know the correct starting procedure for your car. Don’t race a cold engine to warm it up or allow it to idle for an extended time. Avoid rapid acceleration until the engine temperature is in the normal range. The engine will warm up faster under a light load, and emissions equipment will begin to function sooner.
